A lovely small silver pendant (I have a larger one also on my Website) of Akhenaten - husband of Queen Nefertiti and father of Tutankhamun.
Akhenaten (meaning 'living spirit of Atun') was a pharoah of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt who ruled for 17 years and died in either 1336BC or 1334BC. He is especially known for abandoning the traditional Egyptian worship of many gods and introduced worship centered on Atun. After his death traditional practice was gradually restored. Interest in Akenaton increased with the discovery in the Valley of the Kings (near Luxor) of the tomb of King Tutankhamun who has been proved, by DNA testing, to have been his son. A very lovely and unusual pendant.
All my silver jewellery is truly authentic. I purchase it directly from manufacturers in Cairo. I choose each piece individually and with great care. It is all hallmarked.
